We do ask that your cat’s inoculations for Feline Infectious Enteritis and upper respiratory infections (Cat Flu) are up to date. We will need to see their vaccination certificate before boarding. Please remember your cat cannot be boarded without it, so ensure your vaccinations are boosted annually. This is in the interest of your cat’s health and those who are staying in the cattery at the same time.
We regret that male cats over the age of nine months, which have not been neutered, cannot be accepted for boarding.
We are happy to administer medication to your cats while they stay with us. For most medication to be administered there is no additional charge, but we do make a small charge where medication has to be given through the night, as well as insulin injections. Please ask for further details. Please make sure any medication is in date and is contained in veterinary labelled packaging with your vet’s instructions. Please also make sure you leave more than enough of your cat’s medication to allow for any delays you may encounter on your return from holiday.
No cat suffering from, or suspected of suffering from any infectious disease can be accepted. All cats will be examined on arrival, and we reserve the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health, pending advice from a vet. This is essential to safeguard all the cats boarded. We have isolation facilities should the need arise. If whilst in our care, your cat needs to go to the vet, a travel charge of £40.00 will be made, irrespective of the time of day. This will be added to your final account.
Fleas & Worms
Although we realise that fleas & worms are a fairly common problem, we take a great deal of care to ensure that our facility remains a safe haven from them so your cat doesn’t contract them here. Please read the attached sheet / pdf in relation to your cat and fleas. This applies to all cats whether they go outdoors or not.
Please ensure your cat is wormed regularly and treated for flea prevention before you board with us. If we find that your cat has fleas whilst in our care, a charge of £40.00 will be added to your final account for protecting other residents during your cats stay, replacement bedding, decontamination and additional cleaning and disinfection.
Privacy Statement and GDPR
Here at The Cats Whiskers we are committed to keeping your data safe. Our new Privacy Statement reflects the changes we’ve made to strengthen your privacy rights and tell you how we use your data and keep it safe. We have included changes to address the new standards introduced by the European data protection law known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What Types of Data We Collect and How We Use It
We store data about customers and their cats to ensure we can contact them by post, telephone and email for the following reasons:
- in an emergency
- about bookings, booking reminders or queries
- information updates
- any special offers or news
When you book with us we request important information from you for the smooth and efficient running of the cattery, and to ensure your cat(s) will be cared for as you have specified. We will ask you to sign a boarding contract and keep a record of:
- Your name
- Your Address
- Your landline and mobile telephone numbers
- Your email address
- Contact details of another responsible person in case of emergency
- The details of your cat(s) including food and medication requirements
- The name and telephone number of your veterinary surgeon
- Whether you would like us post pictures and videos of your cat(s) on our website, Facebook page, YouTube Channel and Instagram
We do not sell, rent or trade email lists or any other information with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes or any other reason.
Most of our customers return to board their cats with us regularly so we retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested, or for other essential purposes such as complying with our legal obligations.
You are entitled to view, amend or delete any of the personal information that we hold about you and your cat(s) at any time or to change any of your preferences. Please ask one of our team members.
